Another thing to consider is that there's a longstanding formatting rule
and/or convention that keeps the in-game helpfiles from getting too long
and therefore limiting them in scope.  There are other issues that affect
a specific topic or a handful of topics (out of date, typoes, missing
references), but the size/length issue affects the specific medium, and no
amount of editing will eliminate the limitation.


By contrast, there's very little in the way of such limits with the Wiki
(or websites in general), and so it probably makes more sense to focus on
having additional resources to bolster the help topics instead of trying
to perfect the current system.  This is not limited to the wiki, either.
Sites like MUSH Warehouse and Electric Soup can also greatly benefit from
input and support of civic-minded community members.


And maybe we just replace help.txt with an in-MUX text based wiki broswer.
