[Tinymux] Fishing Pole Project

Hi folks, well Im working on my first project and wanted to get ideas on how to go about doing this.
Project: Fishing Pole
You cast the line and will get a random, 'Fish got away' or one of 4 different fish, 'Spotted Racer, Catfish, Sparkle Back and Whitefin. (The fish are made up for the game Im developing.)
Now here is where it gets into grounds Im not sure about. I want the fish to be actual items (so they can sell them to earn some money) or
the fish to be keep as an attribute so the Fish Vendor (who will be a PC) can see actually how many fish the person caught and pay them for the fish and then be able to clear the attribute to prevent cheating.
The object could be a 'fish bucket' that keeps track of the fish.
Please let me know what you think.
