If you precede your @motd command with "@force me=" it should evaluate the color then set the MOTD, giving you the desired effect - at least this has worked for me in the past.

Is it possible to add color to the MOTD to make it stand out more on entry.
Can you use the [ansi(color,text)] in the text file or the @motd command?
