Oh man, people actually still use software firewalls?  ZoneAlarm 
should be classified as a virus anyways though i admit i am biased.

Try doing a fresh install of windows xp, do all the update patches, 
ghost the machine and then dont install zonealarm.  Most of your 
problems will vanish and you'll have all those free cpu cycles.
