Hmm well I certainly cant tell you what to do but I would suggest 
that if it isnt broken why fix it?  You could always do like alot of 
others do 'Supported on Windows 2000/XP' but just mention that it 
'may work with win9x'.  I havent used windows 9x since 2001 because i 
managed to get a computer which can do XP (and because XP is the only 
OS supported on the laptop).

Not I, but im sure that someone in the future will go 'how come mux 
2.x.x.x doesnt run on windows 98?'.
