For the record in case other FC5 x86_64 folks ask:
LIBS = -lm -lnsl -lresolv -lcrypt  -L/usr/lib64/mysql -lmysqlclient
OPTIM = -g -O -I/usr/include/mysql

And I was wondering how you set up the DB connection so thanks for the 
readme.
