         It sounds like a very good idea to me. I mean, you've done a 
great job with the list here, but Google Groups will have both a nice 
archiving feature as well as lessening your workload.

         My only suggestion, and it's an obvious one you've probably 
already considered, would be to send out a final note on this mailing 
list prior to the move. I don't know about others, but I get about 
three hundred emails per day, and ones that aren't pre-sorted by my 
mail filters going into Ye Olde Spambox by default.
